Enjoy eleven days of snow and humour at 2000m altitude: for nearly 20 years the Arosa Humour Festival, the biggest comedy and cabaret festival in Switzerland, has been held in the pre-Christmas snowy mountains of Arosa.

Over recent years everybody who is anybody has performed on the stage at the Arosa Humour Festival. Well-known artists from Switzerland have been the Acapickels, Duo Fischbach, Gardi Hutter, Marco Rima, Massimo Rocchi or Ursus und Nadeschkin, to name but a few. From abroad artists such as Josef Hader, Michael Mittermeier, Dieter Nuhr, Gerhard Polt or Helge Schneider have travelled to Arosa, the erstwhile Walser village right at the far end of Schanfigg valley. Yet the performances at the biggest cultural event in the Grisons will not take place in the well-known tourist resort itself, but even higher up the mountain: in a circus tent specially set up for the festival at the Tschuggenhütte, right at the heart of the skiing area. As always in Arosa, however, it is not only big names on the comedy and cabaret scene who perform, as the festival also offers a platform to up-and-coming talents. Connoisseurs prefer to reach the tent on foot – rather than by funicular – and return to the village on a sledge or skis.
