Born in 1950. He spent his childhood in eastern Switzerland and his youth the in Glarus. A Canton (District) of Switzerland.

He visited the lower and advanced teacher academy in Glarus and Schaffhausen and also studied music. He graduated with a major diploma for double bass at the Zurich music Academy.

As a bassist, he plays in several orchestras and he is also a teacher for bass and pan flute at various music schools.
